Where do you get into Binance Demo Trading?
Already on a Binance trading page on the web? From the spot page, go through settings and preferences to Demo Trading; from the futures page, open the more menu and pick Demo Trading. Either way you land in a practice account that places orders with virtual funds.
You can open Binance Demo Trading on the website or in the app. On the website, pick Demo Trading from the trade menu. In the app, tap the more services widget on the home screen and choose Demo Trading from the frequently used features. Once inside, spot, USDⓈ-M futures and COIN-M futures all place orders with virtual funds, and when you're done, the button at the top right of Demo Trading takes you back to real trading. All you need is a Binance account, and you can get in without finishing KYC, provided you meet the eligibility requirements and your country or region is covered.

Where is Demo Trading on the Binance website?
Binance's help center article on using Demo Trading explains how to get in, with separate steps for the website and the Binance app.
On the web there is a dedicated Demo Trading page. Once you log in with your Binance account, it offers two ways in: spot demo trading and futures demo trading. If you usually have a trading page open anyway, there's no need to remember that page. Switch over from wherever you already are:
| Where you are now | Click in this order | Takes you to |
|---|---|---|
| Binance website | the trade menu, then Demo Trading | Spot demo |
| Spot trading page | settings, then preferences, then Demo Trading | Spot demo |
| Futures trading page | the more menu, then Demo Trading | Futures demo |
| Futures trading page | settings, then preferences, then Demo Trading | Futures demo |
The first time you go in, click the button to start demo trading.
Binance's help center also still has an older page on using demo trading in Binance Futures. It covered the previous futures demo, and all that's left on it now is a one-line notice that Mock Trading has moved to Binance Demo Trading. Mock Trading is the old name; Demo Trading is the current product. If the steps in an older guide don't match what you see, go back to the table above to find the way in.
Where do you find Binance app demo trading?
After logging in to the Binance app, tap the more services widget on the home screen and pick Demo Trading from the frequently used features. If you're already on a trading page, you can go straight in from there:
- Spot: tap trade, then Demo Trading.
- Futures: choose futures, then the three-dot button, then Demo Trading. The demo option is tucked under that three-dot button.
Inside, you get the same markets, trade and assets pages. To go back to your real account, tap the button at the top right of Demo Trading that returns you to real trading. It sits in that top-right spot on both the website and the app.
The help article says most trading features in the demo environment are similar to the matching pages in live trading. Before every buy or sell, check the top right for the button that returns you to real trading, make sure this order is going into the demo account, and only then press it.
Demo Trading covers spot plus USDⓈ-M and COIN-M futures
Spot and futures live together in one demo environment, and futures come in both USDⓈ-M and COIN-M types, so there's nothing to look for separately. The help center lists three pages, and each one works for both spot and futures:
- Markets: browse spot, USDⓈ-M futures and COIN-M futures trading pairs.
- Trade: place and manage orders on those pairs.
- Assets: see the virtual assets in your spot and futures accounts.
USDⓈ-M futures use a stablecoin such as USDT for margin and to settle profit and loss, while COIN-M futures use the coin itself, such as BTC, as margin. Both are in the demo environment. Open a small position in each and look at the assets page to see what each one's margin and P&L are counted in; that's easier to grasp than reading about it. If spot and futures still blur together, our spot vs futures guide has a side-by-side table. For what going long, going short and margin mean, read our futures basics guide.
The demo environment also lets you open other Binance pages such as markets and assets. For a beginner who hasn't put money into an account yet, it's a chance to learn the interface: find the candlestick chart, the order book, the order form and your balance somewhere it costs nothing. The things you can practice are concrete: place an order, cancel one that hasn't filled, then go to the assets page and watch how the balance changes.
Do you need to finish KYC to use Binance Demo Trading?
No, KYC doesn't have to come first. Demo Trading takes a Binance account, and users who haven't completed identity verification, or haven't opened a futures account yet, can still get into both spot and futures demo trading. If your verification is still under review, you can go into the demo environment and get to know the pages in the meantime.
The help article does attach two conditions, though: you have to meet the eligibility requirements, and Demo Trading is available only to users in certain countries and regions. It doesn't spell out which regions are covered or what the eligibility requirements involve. If the paths above don't get you in, those two conditions are what to check. If you can't tell which one is stopping you, contact Binance customer support, which handles questions about demo trading accounts.
Can Binance demo virtual funds be reset or withdrawn?
The virtual funds in your spot and futures accounts can be reset separately. Go to assets, choose the account you want to reset (spot or futures), then hit reset. If that account has open orders, you need to cancel them before it will reset.
Say your spot demo account still has an unfilled order on the book and you want the spot virtual balance restored. Cancel that order first, then go to assets, choose the spot account and reset it. To reset the futures account as well, choose it separately and reset again.
Under Binance's disclaimer, Demo Trading uses simulated digital protocol tokens that carry no economic or monetary value, and activity on the demo platform is separate from real investment activity. So the demo balance can't be withdrawn, and it can't be turned into money in your real account either.
What's missing from Demo Trading compared with live trading?
The markets, trade and assets pages are similar to their live counterparts, but the demo environment doesn't support the features below:
| Demo environment | Not supported |
|---|---|
| Spot demo trading | Trading bots, copy trading |
| Futures demo trading | TWAP, closing all positions by profit and loss, search history and trending searches, heatmap, market movers list, webhooks, grid trading, all export functions |
If you were hoping to try a trading bot or grid trading in demo first, neither can be practiced there, and spot copy trading isn't included either.
Order records are limited too. Demo Trading doesn't provide detailed order information, and customer support can't access or verify demo orders; futures demo can't export records either. If you want to go back over particular trades later, write down the direction, price and size when you place them, or keep screenshots.
On prices and fills, chart data, order book pricing and order execution may differ from the live trading environment. The disclaimer also states that the demo platform may include features not available in real trading, and that performance on the demo platform is not a reliable indicator of future performance or returns in real trading. Demo Trading works well for learning the interface and getting used to placing and cancelling orders, but demo profits aren't a sound basis for estimating what you'd make live.

Binance Demo Trading also works through the API
Can I use the API with Binance Demo Trading?
Yes, Demo Trading can be accessed through the API. Log in to your Binance account, open the Demo Trading page, click the account icon at the top right to reach API management, then choose to create an API and give it a name. In Binance's developer documentation, demo mode uses its own set of endpoints, kept separate from the live trading endpoints.
